More and more people have been signing up to join us on our web site.  Being new to this blog thing I would like to get input from you my readers to get feedback on what information you are hoping to learn here, ideas you would like to share or ?

I have had many people contact me about the Keepers Gathering in July wanting to know the dates.  So I will use the first blog to give you some basic information.

The Keepers Gathering will be in Pipestone, MN at 400 N Hiawatha Ave. it starts on Wednesday July 25 and runs until Sunday July 29th.

We will have a pipestone carving workshop after all we are in Pipestone the home of the Great Pipestone Quarries where the stone comes from for our prayer pipes.  We also have a Feast for the Pipes held on Thursday.   There will be a sweat lodge which you can contact me about attending it is up to the person running the lodge to accept or decline attendance.  Most spiritual leaders ask women on the moon cycle to not attend their lodge.  Friday will be our annual meeting for Keepers members and those wanting to learn more about what Keepers is doing. Sunday will be the prayers at the Quarries bring and load your pipe at the Three Maidens if you like, walk the quarry line putting down tobacco and saying thanks for the many gift the stone has given the people.  The rest of the time will be filled by circles, prayers, and sharing.  Later I will have a schedual of times and days for the activities.

I have been volunteering for the Keepers since 1998 and was elected Treasurer soon after becoming a member.  When I came to the Keepers there was no gift shop or newsletter.  I embraced the Keepers goals feeling a great need to preserve my native heritage and promote unity and prayer for all human beings. I have never wrote in a blog but hope to begin and learn with your input and help.
