Paper back Book The Mishomis Book The Voice of the Ojibway by Edward Benton-Banai a full-blooded Wisconsin Ojibewa of the Fish Clan and a Spiritual Teacher of the Lac Court Orielles Band of the Ojibewa Tribe. Eddie is the Executive Director of the Red School House, St. Paul, MN., and one of it's original founders. Eddie has achieved a longstanding ambition to set down the oral history of the Ojibway Nation with the publication of this book, which is the representation of the life he lived as a youth within the family circle. He was fortunate to have the companionship of tribal elders who possessed the memories and inherent wisdom of the Ojibway Nation and who carefully treasured and preserved these ancient traditions upon which this book is based.
Eddie explains that this is the first book witten in this manner, "from oral traditon, and I hope it is only the beginning. I firmly believe it is time for Indian people to come forward with teachings, prophecies and insight. It is time to talk with our Brothers and Sisters of other nations, colors and beliefs.
