I do a bit of traveling with a pipe and items to smudge for prayers. I have tried a variety of bags and boxes and boxes keep the herbs much safer from crushing. This cedar box measures 6" long by 4" wide and 2" deep and is compact enough for travel, light in weight and will keep everything safe. Included inside the box a small abalone shell, small smudge feather, a loose cedar and sage mix, sweet grass, bear root, kinnick kinnick (herbal smoking mix) and a small tin of earth salve. The outside is tied with a leather thong and is decorated with a small carved effigy in either red pipestone or black pipestone.
