Disk Pipe
Disk-style pipes come in many shapes, including turtle shapes. This pipe is available in 4 sizes with plain pine stems. This pipe in this picture is made by Bud Johnston Ojibwa & Rona Johnston Cherokee, the stem is made by Travis Erickson.
These pipes are made to order. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the pipe to be made. If you wish to know what we have in stock, you can call 507-825-3734, and we will be happy to go over what we have available. Our shop is run by artists and volunteers and is open most days from 12-4pm Tuesday-Sunday.
The pipes are all unique and handmade by various native Indian artists. Product may differ from image. If the pipe is in stock, it can be shipped within two to three business days. Buying multiple pipes may result in an overcharge for shipping; any excess charges will be refunded to your card once your order is processed.

Early disk pipes are divided into two categories the first called a handle disk. The handle extending from the base was sometimes carved into human or animal effigies or carved with etched lines and dots. The other style did not have these extensions both styles have been found with etchings of bears or humans on the face of the pipe.
The earliest of these pipes were found in the Mississippi area and moved out in all directions. Pipes were rear in the east and in Ontario Canada. Eight pipes were found in Onterio. One such pipe a red pipestone disk pipe was found in Ontario Canada in the township of Nottawasaga. Today this pipe can be found in the Royal Ontario Museum.
